Hello World!
So, this is a blog for the RTS (real-time strategy) game Warcraft 3, or more specifically "The Frozen Throne" expansion pack which was published by Blizzard in July of 2003.  Warcraft 3 is considered by many to be one of the best RTS games of all time. You may be asking, "Why make a blog about a game that came out 8 years ago when there are many other newer games available?"  Well, it's because I still play Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne and still enjoy it tremendously.

There are newer RTS games like Starcraft 2,which is also published by Blizzard, but I prefer playing Warcraft 3 instead for a number of personal reasons. For one thing, Warcraft 3 has a "hero" character system which is lacking in many other RTS games. The addition of this system allows for much deeper play mechanics - the "hero" plays a vital role in-game as you battle the computer AI or other human players online through Battlenet. Another system that is lacking in most other RTS games is the special "item" system.  These special items are obtainable by killing monster (creeps) NPCs at specific locations throughout the map or by purchasing them at item shops.  And, last but not least, the "hero" characters are able to level up and gain new abilities or strengthen existing ones.

So, that's Warcraft3 The Frozen Throne aka wc3tft in a nutshell.  I will try to go into some of the specifics of the game in later posts, but for now this should give you a rough idea of the game. Ah, one more thing before I end this post, I am by no means an "expert" at wc3tft, but I just love playing the game. There have been times when I had forgotten about the game and just left it sitting on my bookshelf. But, when I do come back to it, it's always been a ton of fun.
